<p><p>A typical headline will normally take no more than 2 -3 lines out of an average sales page however, those lines will decide whether 80% of your readers will continue to do so. If you are not writing excellent headlines you are missing out on potentially hundreds or even thousands of dollars in lost sales. These are my top three tips to help you write better, stronger, more compelling headlines, NOW. </p></p>
<p><p> 1. Don't write about you.</p><br />
  <p> A common mistake I often see is that people write about themselves. Yes a headline is like creating a big announcement, but unless you're on facebook with die hard friends, no one cares about you. Always, always, write about the customer as if you are actually talking about them.</p><br />
  <p> So the headline: 'Professor Thompson spends 6 six months in Jamaica and discovers new type of Coffee beans!' is an absolutely lousy headline. It's about Professor Thompson and who cares what he did in Jamaica. </p>
<p>A better headline would be 'Exotic Jamaican Coffee Bean may hold secret to Eternal Youth!' Yes it sounds a bit out there, but it's definitely more interesting than hearing about Professor Thompson.</p></p>
<p><p> 2. Don't write about the product.</p><br />
  <p> Don't write about the product, that's what the sales page is for and even then, there's much better things you can do with your space. The natural urge is to proclaim from the rooftops how great your new cream, gizmo or widget is but actually almost no one will care because it has nothing to do with them. So in the headline, make it about them.</p><br />
  <p> So an example of a lousy headline would be 'This awesome book I wrote has great stocks and bond Tips.' A better headline would describe the benefits to the reader. </p>
<p>"Shocking Secrets You must know about Stocks and Bonds BEFORE you invest - or risk losing it all!'</p></p>
<p><p> 3. Write about the customer.</p><br />
  <p> Unless you write directly to the customer as if you are writing about their fears, frustrations and desires and you know how to solve them all you are missing the boat.</p><br />
  <p> Your lousy headline could be: 'Great Acne Cream Rocks' when it obviously should be:</p>
<p>'New Deep Cleanse Acne Cream leaves your face 90% clearer in less than a week'.</p></p>
<p>  <p>Great headlines are not about the author/ inventor, and they're not about the product. A great headline should entice a customer to read more, to feel like they're being 'informed' because the headline spoke directly to them and seemed to offer a real solution to their current situation. Remember these 3 Headline Tips and you will be on your way to better, stronger more effective Headlines in no time!</p><br />
<p>Of course, these tips are just the beginning. A complete copywriting system that brings customers like bees to a honey jar is crucial if you want to avoid common mistakes and if you want to maximise your sales advantage. Luckily there a few authors who have written excellent books on the subject and helped thousands of people like yourself to write fantastic Copy. </p><br />

<p><p>Whether you are on online marketer or an off-line marketer, there is no greater skill that will put more money into your bank account than learning how to use words to sell, or in other words, the skill of Copy writing. Here are my top three fundamental tips in writing good copy writing that won't make potential customers cringe. By using these tips you could save hundred, maybe even thousands in Copy writing fees. Your wallet will thank you! </p></p>
<p><p> #1 Stop trying to sell, start trying to inform.</p><br />
  <p> Think about the last time you were 'sold to'. Whether it was in person, or by an advert on the TV, or perhaps on a website. Not much turns off most people than having the feeling of being 'sold to'. Buy, buy, buy! Buy now, or else the world will explode and we'll close down (for the 20th time). However, we're usually more inclined to listen if it feels we're being informed about the benefits of a given products. Whether it's via a brochure or a salesperson informing us how Cable TV can actually save us $100's of dollars in vdeo hiring fees, we all are more receptive to information over a hard sell.</p><br />
  <p> A typical hard sell would be 'Buy Now this gizmo is totally awesome!' versus '75% of people hate waiting longer than 2 minutes for dinner to heat up. This gizmo does it in 1 and half minutes.' If you're in the market for a fast heating gizmo, the second sell sounds more effective.</p>
<p>Another example is shouting 'This gizmo has fifteen buttons!' versus 'This gizmo has an automatic sleep function to cut on excess electricity usage and 3 settings that automatically cater for the job at hand whether that is dicing, slicing or peeling!'</p></p>
<p><p> #2 Eighty Percent of your Sales Success Depends on the Headline</p><br />
  <p> The first thing a customer will look at when they come to your sales page is your Headline. A good headline will make or break your sales page and it's always worthy to test different headlines.</p><br />
  <p> Headlines should entice the customer to read more. Words like 'Discover the Secret' or 'Amazing facts' or 'Crazy tips' will do the trick.</p>
<p>Another tactic is to make the headline appear factual and appear to solve a problem:</p>
<p>'15 Secret Tips to common Weight-loss Problems'<br />
'Discover 9 Common Mistakes in Dog Training'</p></p>
<p><p> #3 Put Yourself in the Customers Shoes.</p><br />
  <p> Don't write copy writing for yourself (unless you plan to be the only one buying). Put yourself in the shoes of your customers shoes. What are their fears, frustrations and desires?</p><br />
  <p> Imagine you're a restaurant. You could tell everyone that you have  a great restaurant but then who would say their restaurant's the dump? Or you could put yourself in the shoes of the customers by writing:</p>
<p>'At Papa's Pizza we know what you want. The freshest ingredients, authentic sauces from the old country and mouth watering topping and lots of them! We also know that you don't want to wait long for it either so at Papa's Pizza you'll never wait more than 30 mins for a pizza. Guaranteed or it's Free!'</p></p>
<p>  <p>A great headline, an informative style and putting yourself in the shoes of the customer are crucial fundamental strategies in effective copy writing. Remember the old saying, 'You can't pull a horse to water but you can lead him to drink.' Your customers don't want to be dragged by you, you want them to come in because they really, really want to!</p><br />
